M.J. McGalliard and Mary Longhurst came to know each other as students in the Strategic Communications graduate program at Antioch University Seattle.  Working on several projects together, they came to realize a shared love for listening deeply to others’ stories and became aware of the transformational power people feel when their voices are heard: both giver and receiver are changed.  On graduation M.J. and Mary pondered their options for putting their skills to good use.  They felt that capturing Personal Histories for future generations in high-definition video was a priceless endeavor; thus, in 2009, Retro Productions LLC was created. 

Since then, M.J. and Mary saw additional areas in their community where their communication skills could be put to invaluable use.  They have added to their media products the following services:

·       Business profiles for embedding into company websites

·         Communication strategies for political candidates, including personal video profiles

·         Nonprofit promotion, including video profiles and public service announcements
